The group consists of three members who were originally part of the successful R&B group New Edition: Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ronnie DeVoe. Bell Biv DeVoe formed in 1989 and achieved significant success with their debut album, "Poison," released in 1990.
The album "Poison" is considered a classic in the new jack swing genre, blending R&B, hip-hop, and pop elements. The title track, "Poison," became one of their biggest hits and is still a popular and recognizable song today. Other notable songs from the album include "Do Me!" and "B.B.D. (I Thought It Was Me)?"
