Billy Idol is a British-American musician, singer, and actor who gained fame in the 1980s with his distinctive punk rock and new wave style. He was born on November 30, 1955, in Stanmore, Middlesex, England, as William Michael Albert Broad. Some of his most well-known songs include "White Wedding," "Rebel Yell," "Eyes Without a Face," and "Dancing with Myself."

Idol started his musical career as a member of the punk rock band Generation X in the late 1970s before embarking on a successful solo career. His music often combined elements of punk, new wave, and hard rock, and his unique stage presence, including his trademark spiky platinum blonde hair and leather outfits, made him an iconic figure in the 1980s music scene.
