Ghost (also known as Ghost B.C. in the U.S. for a time) is a Swedish rock band known for their theatrical stage presence, Satanic imagery, and a sound that blends heavy metal, hard rock, pop, and classic rock.

👤 Band Identity:

  • Ghost is fronted by a character known as Papa Emeritus (or more recently, Cardinal Copia / Papa Emeritus IV), played by the band’s mastermind: Tobias Forge.

  • The other band members are called the Nameless Ghouls and wear identical, silver devil masks. Their identities are kept anonymous during performances.

🎭 Visual Style & Themes:

  • Heavy use of ritual, religious parody, and dark satire.

  • Frontman’s persona evolves with each album (different versions of "Papa Emeritus" or Cardinal Copia).

  • Stage shows are part rock concert, part black mass, part Broadway musical.
