Nicholas Cage, whose full name is Nicolas Kim Coppola, is an American actor and producer. He was born on January 7, 1964, in Long Beach, California. Cage comes from a family with a strong connection to the film industry; he is the nephew of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola and actress Talia Shire.

Nicholas Cage has had a diverse and prolific acting career, spanning a wide range of genres. He gained recognition in the 1980s with roles in films like "Valley Girl" (1983), "Raising Arizona" (1987), and "Moonstruck" (1987), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor.

Throughout his career, Cage has taken on a variety of roles in both mainstream and independent films. Some of his notable works include "Leaving Las Vegas" (1995), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor, "The Rock" (1996), "Con Air" (1997), "Face/Off" (1997), and the "National Treasure" film series.
