Oasis was a British rock band that gained immense popularity in the 1990s. The band was formed in Manchester in 1991 and originally consisted of brothers Liam Gallagher (vocals) and Noel Gallagher (guitar, vocals), along with Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs (guitar), Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan (bass), and Tony McCarroll (drums).

Oasis rose to fame with their debut album "Definitely Maybe," released in 1994. The album quickly became the fastest-selling debut album in the UK at that time. Their second album, "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?," released in 1995, became even more successful and is considered one of the greatest albums in the history of British rock.

The Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, were known for their distinctive personalities and often engaged in public feuds, contributing to the band's notoriety. Despite their internal conflicts, Oasis continued to release successful albums throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, including "Be Here Now" (1997), "Standing on the Shoulder of Giants" (2000), and "Heathen Chemistry" (2002).

Oasis officially disbanded in 2009 following a backstage altercation between the Gallagher brothers. After the breakup, both Liam and Noel pursued solo careers. The legacy of Oasis remains significant in the history of Britpop and rock music, and their influence can be heard in the work of many contemporary bands.
