Phoebe Cates is an American former actress, born on July 16, 1963, in New York City, New York. She gained fame in the 1980s with prominent roles in popular films. One of her most notable roles was in the 1982 teen comedy "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," where she played the character Linda Barrett. Cates also starred in the 1984 film "Gremlins," directed by Joe Dante.
