Rocky Bleier is a former professional American football player who is best known for his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League (NFL). His full name is Robert Patrick Bleier, and he was born on March 5, 1946, in Appleton, Wisconsin, USA.

Bleier played college football at the University of Notre Dame before being drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 16th round of the 1968 NFL Draft. His NFL career was interrupted when he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He served in the Vietnam War and was wounded in action, suffering severe injuries to both his legs. Despite being told he might never play football again, Bleier worked hard to rehabilitate and eventually returned to the Steelers in 1971.

He became an integral part of the Steelers' success in the 1970s, winning four Super Bowls with the team (Super Bowls IX, X, XIII, and XIV). Rocky Bleier was primarily a running back and played for the Steelers from 1971 to 1980. His story of overcoming adversity and returning to football after sustaining serious injuries has made him an inspirational figure.
