Siouxsie and the Banshees were a British rock band formed in 1976, known for their influential and distinctive sound blending elements of post-punk, new wave, and gothic rock. The band was fronted by vocalist Siouxsie Sioux (Susan Ballion) and included guitarist John McKay, bassist Steven Severin, and drummer Kenny Morris in its original lineup.

Siouxsie and the Banshees gained prominence in the late 1970s and early 1980s with singles like "Hong Kong Garden," "Happy House," and "Peek-a-Boo." Their music often featured Siouxsie's haunting vocals, atmospheric guitar work, and a dark, moody aesthetic that appealed to fans of alternative and underground music scenes.

Over their career, the band released several critically acclaimed albums, including "Juju," "Kaleidoscope," and "A Kiss in the Dreamhouse." They were noted for their theatrical live performances and for influencing a wide range of later artists across different genres.

Siouxsie and the Banshees disbanded in 1996 after a successful and influential career that left a lasting impact on alternative music. Siouxsie Sioux has since pursued a solo career and remains an iconic figure in the music world.
