Siouxsie and the Banshees were a pivotal band in the post-punk scene, formed in 1976 and fronted by the charismatic Siouxsie Sioux. Known for their dark, atmospheric sound and theatrical style, they blended punk energy with elements of gothic rock, art rock, and new wave.

Their debut album, The Scream (1978), received critical acclaim and featured tracks like "Hong Kong Garden." The band continued to evolve throughout the 1980s with albums like Juju and A Kiss in the Dreamhouse, producing hits such as "Peek-a-Boo" and "Christine." Siouxsie’s distinctive voice and the band's innovative sound influenced countless artists across various genres.

They are also credited with helping to pave the way for many female-fronted bands in rock music
