Siouxsie and the Banshees were a British rock band formed in 1976. The founding members were Siouxsie Sioux (vocals), Steven Severin (bass guitar), Marco Pirroni (guitar), Sid Vicious (drums), and Peter Fenton (guitar). However, this lineup changed shortly after their first performance, with the core members being Siouxsie Sioux and Steven Severin.

The band is often associated with the post-punk and new wave movements and is considered one of the pioneers of gothic rock. Siouxsie and the Banshees achieved commercial success and critical acclaim over their career, releasing numerous albums and singles.

Some of their notable albums include "The Scream" (1978), "Join Hands" (1979), "Kaleidoscope" (1980), "Juju" (1981), and "Tinderbox" (1986). Their single "Peek-a-Boo" from the album "Peepshow" (1988) became a significant hit.

Siouxsie Sioux, born Susan Janet Ballion, is known for her distinctive vocal style and unique stage presence. The Banshees disbanded in 1996 after a successful and influential career spanning two decades. Siouxsie Sioux continued to work on various musical and artistic projects after the disbandment.
