Timothy Dalton is a British actor born on March 21, 1946, in Colwyn Bay, Denbighshire, Wales. He is best known for his portrayal of James Bond in the 1987 film "The Living Daylights" and the 1989 film "Licence to Kill." Dalton brought a more serious and gritty interpretation to the iconic role, departing from the more lighthearted approach of his predecessor, Roger Moore.

Before taking on the role of James Bond, Dalton had a successful career in both film and television. Some of his notable works include the film "Flash Gordon" (1980), "The Lion in Winter" (1968), and the mini-series "Jane Eyre" (1983), in which he played Mr. Rochester.
