Tom Petty was an influential American rock musician, best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. With his signature sound that blends rock, heartland rock, and a touch of folk, he created a series of memorable hits. Some of his well-known songs include "American Girl," "Free Fallin'," and "Mary Jane's Last Dance."

Petty was also involved in other projects, such as the Traveling Wilburys, a supergroup featuring Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, and Jeff Lynne. His career spanned over four decades, during which he earned critical acclaim and a loyal fan base. Sadly, Tom Petty passed away in October 2017, but his music continues to resonate with fans around the world.
