Tommy Shaw is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter best known for his work with the rock band Styx. He was born on September 11, 1953, in Montgomery, Alabama, USA.

Shaw joined Styx in 1975, replacing original guitarist John Curulewski. His addition to the band contributed to their success and helped define their sound during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Styx is known for their progressive rock and hard rock sound, and Tommy Shaw played a significant role in the band's success with his guitar work and vocals.

Some of the notable songs featuring Tommy Shaw's contributions include "Renegade," "Blue Collar Man (Long Nights)," "Too Much Time on My Hands," and "Crystal Ball." He left Styx in 1984 but rejoined the band in 1995, and he has been an integral part of their lineup since then.
