U2 is an Irish rock band formed in Dublin in 1976. The band consists of Bono (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), The Edge (lead guitar, backing vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar), and Larry Mullen Jr. (drums). They’re known for their anthemic sound, socially and politically conscious lyrics, and ambitious live performances.

U2 achieved global success with their albums "The Joshua Tree" (1987) and "Achtung Baby" (1991), among others. Their music often explores themes of faith, love, and social issues. They’ve won numerous awards, including several Grammys, and are known for their influential and enduring presence in rock music.
